How many men does it take to change a light bulb?
Hmm... debatable or as the psychiatrist said "Only one, but the bulb really has to want to change".
How many men does it take to change a lamp post? Three... and here's the proof.
When removed one of these lamp posts had a label attached to the wiring dated 1961. A life of 55 years. The posts were cast iron and like a steam engine are arguably more aesthetically pleasing than their replacements of galvanised poles. However the lamps themselves are LEDs, more economic and 'greener'.
The men carrying out this work have to be admired. Pleasant, friendly and hard working, in all weathers. No time to be sick either, not unless they want to be on half wages! Not something I would fancy doing up to the age of 70 years! Nor too keen on cutting and joining live cables with 230 volts to make your hair stand on end - or worse!
